About Us

On behalf of our entire staff, welcome to Fairfield Animal Hospital. Our goal is to offer the highest quality veterinary care possible at affordable prices. We know people look upon their pets as members of the family. We feel the same. Fairfield Animal Hospital prides itself on being a complete animal hospital with both modern equipment and a caring, compassionate staff.

Our Staff

Sandra Harris, DVM

Dr. Harris was born and raised in Houston and now resides in Cypress with her husband, three children, one dog, and two cats. "When not working I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and scrapbooking."

Dr. Harris received her degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M and went on to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine there as well. She has been working in the Houston and Woodlands area since her graduation in 1997 and has been at Fairfield Animal Hospital since 2006. Her special interest is internal medicine.

Mike Hicks, DVM

Dr. Hicks started Fairfield Animal Hospital in 2001. Prior to this he spent three years at Animal Emergency Clinic Southeast as a critical care veterinarian. He has also worked in Lufkin and Bryan/College Station as a mixed animal practitioner. Dr. Hicks received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University-College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. He received his BS degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Hicks has three children, Justin, Casey, and Trey. "I enjoy spending time with my family, most any outdoor activity, Texas A&M football, and traveling to my children's ball games and tournaments."

Dr. Hicks has one dog, a 12 year-old Yellow Lab. His special interests include surgery, internal medicine, and wound care.


Julie Arriaga, RVT

Julie is a registered veterinary technician and a 2002 graduate of Tomball College. She has been married for the past 11 years to husband Danny and has a daughter Amber who is currently in college. Her hobbies include gardening and playing with her 10 dachshunds (Duke, Layla, Murphy, Sebastion, Munro, Winston, Indie, Mollie, Astro, and Brandy) Regarding her chosen profession she says, "I get to make a positive impact on the lives of many cats, dogs and clients I come in contact with daily."

 

Judy Ray, RVT

Judy is a registered veterinary technician and a 1993 graduate of Lone Star College. She has been married for twenty-eight years to her husband Michael and they have two sons, John and Ben. She enjoys going on cruises, reading and spending time with her family. Her four legged family members include two Boston Terriers, Richie and Molly, also a Chihuahua named Skip. “I enjoy educating clients so they can have a longer and happier life with their pets.”

 

Jennifer Knichel, Certified Veterinary Assistant

Jennifer is a certified veterinary assistant and serves multiple roles for us. She has been employed at Fairfield Animal Hospital for over 7 years and can truly do it all. "As a little girl, I always knew I wanted to work with animals, to help the ones who can't help themselves. When not working I am busy raising my two beautiful children, four if you count my playful, energetic dogs Asia and Gambit". Her family enjoys anything that takes them outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and mountain biking.



Ivy Griffin, Client Care Coordinator

Ivy Griffin is our “night girl” at Fairfield Animal Hospital. She is married to her wonderful husband Tod and they have two precious children Megan age 20 and Taylor age 22. They just added their sweet son in law Zack to the family. Ivy has spent the last 25 years being a wife, mom, homemaker, photographer, and animal lover. She has two dogs, Ruby Begonia and Teddy, two cats, Tiny and Bugsy, one lovebird, sweetie, three horses, Harley, Lucy, and Cowboy, and finally one 30-year-old Shetland pony named CJ. When not at work she usually can be found in the barn or spraying the weeds in her garden!
